I’ve installed my Mopar Performance PCM into the Coupe today. Over all the install into the coupe was 100% easier than the 4 door. With the small battery in there it was basicly 7 bolts and a quick pull and we were done.
This is why I love Neons.
Also on a side note, all_motor_mike from neons.org may be building custom long tube headers sometime in the future….I can’t wait to see what they turn out like… also another product that might be in production is a slim-rad fan shroud!!! I need this sooo badly!! I may just get some fab guys here in the hat to make one for me!
Sooo…. lets start this show!

Getting a wash haha

Sexy fresh engine… still no valve cover.. I have one on the way from Jeff Ford

My favorite picture…. B)

Look! I have twins! :cool
Today I went ahead and purchased a Kirk long tube header for my neon. It comes completely wrapped in DEI header wrap ($50 USD). It has about 3 passes done on it – it was ment for a track car that ended up getting a swap. I got a smokin good deal on it $200 shipped to my door CANADIAN FUNDS!!! I was looking at about $360.00 CND if I would have went with Modern..
It ships out on Monday.

Minute muffler will be installing this for me when it arrives. Hopefully they do a better job than Budget Muffler!!!

Also picked up the “Neon Performance” book as part of the deal.. I’m pretty sure I won’t need it, but I thought it’d be cool to have..

I recieved my new rad fans today! This time they fit perfectly!!!! Flow is great and still have room between the manifold and the fans!

Turns out we have a leak at the intake, the gasket was in pretty bad shape when we took off the manifold, so I have a Hondata on order to replace it. Fans turn on at the right times and shut off at the same time.
Also waiting on a filter for the cold air intake.
Placed my latest order at MPx today! ModernPerformance.com has to be my most favorite store ever! I can never seem to walk away just buying 1 simple part – my cart always seems to be upwards of $300.00 or more! Go big or stay home I guess!
Anyway, here’s what I’ve got on the way now!
Euro clear fog lights!

Mine are all fogged up and old. So this will make the front of the car look nice and clean all the time!
Diamond Clear Headlights, and signals.

And a MPx polished oil cap. This will look great on my nice blue valve cover!

Finally, an MSD coil pack because mine needs replacing and will also look good on my new valve cover!

This order was mostly all appearance modifications. Next thing on the chopping block is the exhaust! I’ve got some long plans for that!
Today I placed my order for some Booger Bushings. The cost sky rocketed since 2 years ago when I ordered my last set! This time it cost me $26.00 – I don’t think they’re worth that much. Oh well, I need them, my OEM bushings are totally worn out.

I got a black set.
This past Christmas I bought a set of SRT-4 rims for my 1gn. They had some shit SRT tires on them, ripped those off and now this is what’s sitting in my garage ready for some new 205/40/17’s!

Still deciding on if I should powder coat them or not…
Planning on mounting them early June!
I built and mounted my cold air intake today.
I don’t understand why people spend $200+ on a simple CAI when you can simply build one yourself that functions just the same if not better! But to tell you the truth, if I was keeping my stock intake manifold on this car I would have bought an Iceman just to stay with the Mopar Performance name brand!
Anyway, my throttle body has a 2.5″ opening, so I went to an exhaust shop and bought an ‘L’ shaped 2.5″ pipe to match! This will flow perfectly!
Anyway, here’s more pictures!

That open hose has to be tapped into the side of the cold air intake. I could simply put a small filter on the valve cover, but this will look better!

It sits perfectly straight!
I installed my MPx shorty antenna today. I had recieved a male antenna when I ordered a female and was about to send it back for exchange when I decided to check again and it turns out I had never actually checked my coupe! Luckily, this car had a female end on the car which allowed it to be mounted!
Anyway, here’s the pics!

Look’n good! We’ll see what it looks like in the sun as soon as those rad fans come in!
While I was prepping my engine bay for the new rad fans I noticed my main grounds were pretty beat up and it was time to replace them. I guess I found a job to do while waiting for my fans to come in!

I’ll be picking up some nice 4 gauge wire to replace my grounds & power! It’ll look great and perform even better!
I can’t wait for this car to be on the road! I love my project neon!
Also, I bought a ‘Y’ connector for my RCA’s in the 4 door! The subs are finally at their full potential!!
